Wonderful ponies, small through large, take children of all ages over two courses. The first is over logs and under branches on lovely forest trails. The second addresses terrain change: up and down hills. Adults come along for picture taking or take the shortcut to see the highlight! Horse led rides go through our wetlands with gorgeous views and a forest with obstacles. Watch for deer and wildlife! In addition to mounting and dismounting, capable riders learn to hold the reins, steer, stop a horse, duck under branches and negotiate over logs. A one hour session is long enough for two children and includes pony brushing time and learning a bit about horse care or riding. All rides are hand walked or led; no circle rides. Children who are able to steer can try it out. . Helmets are provided with sizes for toddlers through adult. Rides are offered seven days a week by appointment only. There are no minimum or maximum ages. Bring a water bottle, closed toed shoes, and a camera…be prepared for lots of smiles! Maximum #200.
*See tips below
LEASE A HORSE/PONY BY THE MONTH: 30-day no monthly contract leases are available to qualified clients for $180 for on-site use which includes tack, feed and other expenses. Improve your riding skills with daily practice.
SPECIAL NEEDS LEASING: Pony brushing, petting, braiding and leading time available for $40 a month. By appointment; call for details.

*TIPS: Bring water bottles with you out of the car; be sure your camera is charged and has lots of available room; shorts are fine, but all people in the horse area should wear closed toed shoes. We have sitting areas in the sun and shade, but you won't see as much. Camera people be prepared to move right along ahead of the ponies so you don't get all tail shots! Fancy hair in braids or high pony tails can interfere with the comfort of the helmet. The petting zoo & Toyland may be scheduled for after the ride or for a separate visit. If possible please use a restroom before you come to avoid losing time from your session. An outhouse is available!
DIRECTIONS: Adventure Pony Rides is located less than a half hour northeast of Sandpoint. Directions given with your deposit. Please call for a reservation.
